Today’s prompt is :
TRULY ALIVE
There were no scars on her body but brain hemorrhage crushed
her lofty dreams of the beauty pageant crown.
Chitragupta opened
her Karma Books of Accounts on Earth, asked, “Charity to an orphanage?”
“I was raised as an orphan there”.
“Supporting an old woman?”
“She is like my mother”.
“Sponsoring a girl child’s education?
“Paying it forward”
“If you were re-born as a rose?”
“I would love to be on the tomb of an unknown soldier who
died for his country”.
Chitragupta adorns her head with a crown and Yama plants a kiss
of ‘life’ and she becomes truly alive.
A rose "on the tomb of an unknown soldier who died for his country." That touched me...
