The lucky one

And since it’s Saturday – here’s our 100 Words on Saturday 2014 – 7  prompt:

s/he’s the lucky one

Anand sat at his mother’s feet and implored her to interact with his bride and then judge her by her values and up-bringing.

Dismissing a person on basis of a different religion is not humanity he explained to her.  Amma’s eyes were red but her heart had already melted.

Later when amma met Elizabeth she said that she is the daughter she always longed for.

Amma glanced at Anand and said to herself that he’s the lucky one.

Elizabeth, being accepted by her mother-in-law was relieved and happy, said to herself that she’s the lucky one.
