P.A.S.S.

Panchali-ji and  PariKnitha Urs  tagged me to participate in Protest Against Smelly Stubble (P.A.S.S.)

In ancient Rome , the citizens tonsured their heads and wore wigs to maintain hygiene. They sported no beard or moustache  and were clean shaven.

I do not prescribe to go bald but the stubble and unkempt look is a strict no-no affair for me. A stubble or a beard or an unkempt look is a sign of thumbs-down and the prerogative of the lazy and laid back species. A hairy face tries to camouflage  the facial emotions thereby masking to earn the title of  being surreptitious. Moreover the Indian climate is prone to sweat and grime  paving the way for hideouts for micro-organisms of dubious nature. Making a style statement with a hairy appearance is like committing hara-kiri. Gone are the days when a French beard  or a goatee gave a rugged or a masculine look.

While on the other hand , the clean -shaven look gives an authoritative air of being a gentleman , suave and debonair and gives a peek-a-boo of the man's clean (pun intended) character. A fresh and a presentable image leaves a lasting imprint on the minds of the viewers. Clean shaven men are regarded to be hygienic conscious leaving a trail of fragrant after-shave lotion. The facial hair need not be a sure sign of being manly or aggressive. But a clean shaven face lovingly reflects the concern and care for the wife or girl-friend. I need not exaggerate on this point. Every man does not have the aura of Amitabh Bachchan to sport a salt and pepper beard.

68% of the women think that clean shaven men smell good and I am one among the majority . My husband is very particular about shaving and maintaining hygiene. So clean shaven faces rules the world and a big thumbs-up from me.

This post is a part of the Protest Against Smelly Stubble Activity in association with BlogAdda.

  1. Remind me never to have a face to face meeting with you unless I have actually shaved off my goatee on that day and have dabbed on a generous helping of after shave lotion.

Just kidding, ATB for the contest.

  4. Kalpana, I enjoyed reading your views about clean shaved persons. I also don't like a stubbled face.

  6. I have never been attracted to men with lots of facial hair...a mustache maybe but no beard. My husband has always had a mustache and I would rather he be clean shaven and dipped in aftershave. Heavenly!
