gently asked the newly recruited accounts-assistant , Tanya.
"Whatever" , came the reply , which Tanya had totally unexpected. Shock and confusion was largely writ on her face but she dare not again ask her superior, Marilyn .
The staff members briefed about Marilyn's fastidious nature and her need to be in control assumed a grotesque proportion. The Devil wears Prada as she was nicknamed in the office gossip.
"Marilyn Madam , I need to take my child to the hospital for vaccination . Please allow me to leave at 3'o clock." meekly asked Janet.
Marilyn raised her arched eyebrows and looked disbelievingly at Janet.
"Whatever is your problem , I don't care."
"Vaccination and not whatever" ,Tanya stressed on the last word on purpose and continued ," Janet , you may leave and I will take care of your work".
Turning to Marilyn , Tanya stood akimbo , and said " understood Marilyn madam or whatever you are".
Marilyn froze as if she had seen a ghost. She stood still for a moment and said ,"Alright Janet" with her voice quivering , beat a hasty retreat to her cabin.
The Devil had been tamed.
