That wasn't what I meant.

 Trifextra: Week 103

Trifecta  wants 33 words in addition to and preceding the following: That wasn't what I meant.
Here is my take.......................

You walked out of my life.
But stayed in my heart,
With shadows of doubts
I fought loneliness.
Will you ever come back?
‘Leave me alone’, I screamed
That wasn't what I meant.
Couldn't you read my mind?

We are asking for a 33-word response to the following snippet:
The first time I saw. . .
Here's the catch: all of your 33 words must be one syllable each.  We're going low-brow on your this week.  Or not.  Can you class it up under these restrictions?  Give us your best.

To clarify, we are giving you 5 words.  We want another 33 from you, for a grand total of 38.

The first time I saw you cry ,  I had tears of joy in my eyes.
I was afraid to touch or kiss your soft skin lest I hurt you.
I just stared at my life, my baby.

" Should I debit the tour expenses to Travel or Miscellaneous category?"
gently asked the newly recruited accounts-assistant , Tanya.

"Whatever" , came the reply , which Tanya had totally unexpected. Shock and confusion was largely writ on her face but she dare not again ask her superior, Marilyn .

The staff members briefed about Marilyn's fastidious nature and her need to be in control assumed a grotesque proportion. The Devil wears Prada as she was nicknamed in the office gossip.

"Marilyn Madam ,  I need to take my child to the hospital for vaccination . Please allow me to leave at 3'o clock." meekly asked Janet.

Marilyn raised her arched eyebrows and looked disbelievingly at Janet.

"Whatever is your problem , I don't care."

"Vaccination  and not whatever" ,Tanya stressed on the last word on purpose and continued ," Janet , you may leave and I will take care of your work".
Turning to Marilyn , Tanya stood akimbo , and said " understood Marilyn madam or whatever you are".

Marilyn froze as if she had seen a ghost. She stood still for a moment and said  ,"Alright Janet" with her voice quivering , beat a hasty retreat to her cabin.

The Devil had been tamed.

The Principal  asked him to come inside his room. Little Sonu 's cheeks were moist and his eyes red and swollen. This explained that he was crying incessantly. But the reason was difficult to fathom. He made no attempts to befriend any of his classmates and preferred to remain alone not participating in any of the school activities.

He was asked to sit on the chair opposite the Principal. He noticed a vase of red roses and big teddy bear clutching a small pink teddy. His gaze was now concentrated on the decorative piece and he looked forlorn. The Principal seizing this opportunity thought that this would break the ice. The Principal asked Sonu to pick the stuffed toy.

"Why did you pluck the red roses from the plant? It 's so painful to be separated from its parents. Couldn't they all be together?" , said Sonu.

The Principal was flummoxed .

Later the Principal learnt that Sonu's parents were separated. Little Sonu missed his father and wished the whole family stayed together under one roof. The acrimonious divorce had left a bad imprint on his tender mind and he was pluck-ed like the rose flower from his familiar surroundings to be displaced to a new unknown territory. The adults move away from each other and later move on but the child could not adapt to the new environment.

"..................and we will kill the baby prince as we lynched the King and the Queen. and I will remember you." She stood still , like a statue but the words kept resonating and hearing them herself she could not bring to distrust herself. She had to act fast, and she stirred from her hiding place , behind the thick silk curtains and ran into the royal chamber where the little prince lay asleep, unaware of the conspiracy hatched by his own paternal uncle to usurp his accession to the throne.

The traitor for a few gold dimes did what was expected of him, faithfully.

She , from her hiding place watched with a suppressed breath and shed only a tear.

She was favorably remember-ed and suitably rewarded and as promised  was given a safe passage into the  deep woods , carrying her infant son, along with a few trusted soldiers.

She , stopped for a while, looked up at the Sun, paying respects to the slained  royal couple , reminding their spirits , the promise that she didn't fail to keep , to protect and safeguard the baby Prince , who slept snugly in her arms while she moaned for the death of her infant son who would be buried besides the royal couple as their own child.
She, the trusted maid and caretaker, of the slain royal couple , would bring up the Prince , in hiding, unknown to the world and abide for the right time to claim the throne for the rightful heir.

box gave me no freedom. As the waves tossed the box,

I tried to shout, feeling breathless and constricted,

I awoke and the nightmare ended.

Zombie

This post is written for Trifecta Writing Challenge and includes the word ZOMBIE (noun)       :  a mixed drink made of several kinds of rum, liqueur, and fruit juice.

I signalled to the bartender. Post sunset Joe's Pub was overflowing with drinks as well as his loyal customers. The pitch of the conversations was crossing the permissible limit and my ears threatened to explode. A copy of the evening newspaper lay on the bar-counter. I stole a quick glance at the headlines. A woman with a red bag was seen moving around the lake in a suspicious manner....................

The bartender stood within breathing distance.

"Your order, Sir" said he.

"One Zombie with ice".

The colour of the drink did nothing to soothe my troubled nerves. It was the color of our wall of our bedroom.

Now the bedroom was empty just as my mind and heart. The bed-cover and the floral sheets reminded me of her. The crystal vase with red roses stood on the side-table mocking at me. They reminded me of her when she bit the corner of her lower lip. Angrily , she had packed in the red bag and left me after an acrimonious argument. It would be a torture to enter the house that would be bereft of her presence. Did she venture out close to the lake? My heart skipped a beat. Hastily , I gulped down my drink. The effect of the cocktail drink was immediate and the room started to spin. How did people manage to drown their woes into alcohol?  Her absence in my life made me more lonelier even in the crowded pub. Had I lost her forever? I wish I could apologize and bring her back.

The cell-phone in my trouser pocket rang. I fumbled and manage to retrieve it and glared at the screen flashing. My ears could hear the pounding of my heart. I answered and the voice at the other end ,"Darling , where are you?". My heart did a jig on my unsteady legs. I turned to the bartender, " One more zombie with ice please".

Rainbow

Me wandered into the Garden of Eden
petals of all hues and apples laden

the green carpet under my feet
felt a cool wet sheet

Butterflies flitting and flirting
Me chased with happiness squirting

ran hither and thither
but the winged fantasy rose higher

Me gasping for air, waited
limbs tired with breath abated.

The coiled creature around the tree,
beckoning with a sly smile , in glee

stood transfixed , hypnotized.
the angel in me realized

the demonic design
but the devil in me , whine

Tempted , tantalized to savour
the forbidden fruit flavour

A land of sunshine and rainbow
of sweet honey meadow

Promising me the land of nectar
stupid of me to fall prey to predator

I yielded to my downfall
No rainbow after the rainfall

Eternal dark grey gloomy weather
Till date hasn't got better.
