Trust broken

Happy anniversary.

Music and  wine failed to assuage the  tempest in my heart. The sip of infidelity

combined with mendacity set the marital boat rocking.

My tired oar failed to keep it  afloat.

The Titanic sank with my trust.

Save our planet

The iron fangs mechanically sink deeper into her womb aborting

life. The bare surface devoid of foliage with parched throat cries

to quench. A lone concerned voice protests over the monstrous din.

Million hands join the movement to conserve what is left.

raging passion

“Come, help me in the barnyard. Writing won’t keep the home

fires burning”.

Heat sears his face gradually as the flames rise higher.

He casts a forlorn look at the burning embers.

“Each word is imprinted in the book of my mind”.

Soldier

They brought him home wrapped in the tricolour flag.

The innumerable flames of the wicks, bereaved with the wind illuminating the
dark moon-less night.

His fighting spirit kept him alive, buried in blankets of snow albeit briefly.

Salute you, brave Hanumanthappa.

Trust the Lord

The contractions wrung her body,

she saw the poacher’s aim staring.

Her priority concentrated on giving life,

she surrendered to HIM.

The thunder and lightning blinded him,

missing his mark.

An addition to near extinct species.

A new dawn welcomed the cub.

I am

When umbilical cord severed

"Fairer sex", I was pronounced.

Weaker sex, I was reminded.

I carried the weight (burden)

till adult-hood.

Wielding a pen

I etch on stone

Fair sex: unfair.

Judge not by my statistics, complexion, tears.

Dive deeper for pearls.

Behemoth ego

Padded in iron armoury.

A sword pulled out from the sheath

pierced deep, bleeding my wound.

Warrior in me waged a war

 with an enemy;  inside me.

Rising like Sphinx

to greater heights.

A newer me marches,

residue of ego, lies buried.

were embedded in each

dazzling crystal of my tiara.

                      Uneasiness ruled my conscience.

His charming smile wore a dark mask,

his falseness deciphered only by me.

"Happy crystal anniversary Mr. and Mrs. Smith".....

The mask melts into his coterie.

door of opportunity

Staring into the vacant space, it played in the maze

of folds of my brain. Tickling, teasing.

Knock.

Should or shouldn't I?

Damocles sword hung, haemorrhaging my thinking.

Dame Luck spreads her embrace.

Hesitation raises its ugly head.

An opportunity, missed.

Forever.

poaching

Confusion ran amok.

MURDER

The carcass lay sprawled,

decaying,

parasites feasting.

Wiping off the perspiration beads, the Forest Ranger.

Kaziranga statistics dwindled by one, inching towards extinction.

Traditional Chinese medicine demanded it.

The prized horn is the grazer’s uniqueness, its nemesis. Alas!

Erasers

undo pencil marks

on pages, white.

Aha, childhood.

Footprints into adolescence threshold

pimples, exam stress and broken hearts.

Band-Aid for Cupid's arrows?

Or a stone shield?

A magic eraser to rub the slate clean.

Begin anew with every fall or error.

Thief

Stood on patio

my arms encircled

around his life.

Wife waltzed away.

Barking sounded nearer.

"They bark only at thieves".

A thief lurking inside me,

stolen another women's home.

Could I build an eternal nest

in his heart, on foundation of guilt?

Silent language

She encouraged tactile experiences.

Eyes, fingers and body language are the medium of communication,
she implored.
Explore.

The other senses come to rescue when one sense is deprived at

birth.

Christine ruled our world of silence and we were willing students.

lost night

Krrrrrrrrrrŕ..... rewinding my grandpa's clock 10 times, the grumpy
grey-haired mechanic looked menacingly.

                                           ************

I got out of the trance, unsure and prepared to retire for the night when
tender sun rays gate-crashed my bedroom.

10 rewinds, 10 hours lost to the devil.

Scorching Hot

Image result for Pics of Marilyn Monroe's seven year itch

The nubile hands tried hard to keep her modesty in place.

Heads turned and  collective gasps ensued as her skirt

bellowed up with the draught.

'The chill air sent the male mercury soaring , scorching.

Seven year itch.

"Monroe for me", winking slyly.

Left alone

Swimming in the dark congested amniotic pool,

Content were we sharing, caring.

With the spasm, I struggled out.

From my throat escaped a cry,

Air filled my lungs.

Free into the sunny world.

But O brother! Why did your throat run dry?

The inner Me.

Image result for two mirror images holding hands

Swimming against the tide of surging humanity,

I longed to reach the shore.

A figure waved frantically

Familiar face, smiling, serene.

Firm handshake.

We walked on the beach, moonless night

Sharing nostalgia, hands clasped tight.

My mirror image. Me, met my soul.
