Hunger

Poets United Mid-Week Motif ~ Hunger

       Shaking its royal mane
Captivating the forest with its roar
the King has doused the fires
             of hunger.
contended he drifts off to slumber.

         With guns and rifles
          hunger for a hunt
         he prowls for a sign
           of the beast.
        To display his valour
         trophy to showcase
on the walls of the mansion.

mirror, image

when I stare at my own reflection
the mirror asked , what is your intention?
to admire an imitation
or peer into your real-self .

I am faithful and just,
quips the reflection silvery .
But are you?
Yes I am , feebly I argue
Laughter resonates the mirrory frame.
tear down the mask game
layers of grease paint, peel
wash your face with the feel
of water of reality
and embrace a new you.

A new you
and an old me
join hands together
like pals ever
play in the memory lane.

Equality

Poets United Mid-Week Motif ~ Equality

“Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that.
Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that.”

Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial National Memorial

              Angels of God sat together.
               A white , a black , a brown
                      ........and so many.

Color of blood : only red
Did God distinguish between his creations?
                   Pray , why do we?

          To live and perish
we all have only one Earth.
tiny hands , make it a better place to live.

The Sun , Moon and the twinkling stars
have no bias when they rise and shine.
Together let's make the horizon brighter.

               Dissolve the barriers of
          race, religion, caste and creed
Love and humanity rule the world.

Beggar and the pup

On a cold winter night
when everybody kept out of sight.
Retreating to the warm fire-place
Rubbing their hands and face.

A beggar on the street
with only a puppy to greet.
sat with expected glances
and belly doing a thousand dances.

A loaf is all they get
two pairs of hungry eyes met.
The beggar tore into two
and happily they chew.
