ground surprised him. With
tempest in my chest, I cried
with happiness.

Today is his fifth birthday.

Glad that her child took the first baby steps. One step for a child, a huge leap for her mom...
That ending was a real surprise and really fit with the "tempest" in the chest, which at first threw me. By the end though, it was AHA!
